This is where I was off to when the most horrible noise in the world ..ever.. was heard !!
The sound of a Hayabusa valves rattling at tick over.

I had had a great run across to the show and was just pulling up to the entrance.
Then I could here a loud rattling coming from my engine. pulled away and it went quiet, dipped the clutch and the rattle was back?
I pulled over next to the entrance and popped the bonnet.
There was no sign of oil or water leaks any where, temp ok, every thing looked fine.
After hunting around in the show for some where to buy a small torch I  managed to see into the oil level viewer under the engine.
No oil at all !!
Where it had gone who knows. Must have been burnt? So after putting in more oil (yes, I had check the levels last week !) I tried to start the engine but turnover once then a clunk !

A passerby called Andy piped up and said that he was a motorbike mechanic and said
"it was more than likely that the big end no.4 shell has gone? This is a common problem some times caused when the bike has a crash and rev's whilst on it's side damaging the shelves"

Well that meant nothing to me, but when he said don't start it again because it's seized and you will only do more damage.. then it hit home..

I'm FKD

The car was looking so good just sitting there, waiting to be towed !!

A quick call to the Breakdown Help line at Footman James and the tow truck arrived within 20 min's. now that's service.

I thought the most embarrassing time I broke down was in Brandon when my thermostat broke.. oh no...
Pushing  your Dax into the biggest kit car show in the UK
AND THEN
having it towed away will definitely take some beating !!

Remember - Things happen for a reason
