It's
the start of April 2001 and all the motor racing has started again
so I am
starting to save a few pennies for my new 'Weekend' car.

My Last car (as of 01/11/2000)
was OK as a work horse but I have this need for speed again.
I thought that my little meeting with a tree
last year in my Mitsubishi Galant had cured my craving, but it had only suppressed it !!
I got bored awaiting to build my Rush ... so I changed my
every day car to an MG ZS
sports car . .
But the wait is over.. The Dax Rush is alive and
kicking out 135bhp at the wheels and 1/3 the weight of a
old mini... 0 - 60mph in just over 3 sec's..

The
DAX Rush - a lightweight, performance oriented two-seater
manufactured with precision and care, but using proven and
easily obtainable Ford components that make it extremely
economical both to build and maintain. (ya right !!)

The chassis is multi-tubed triangulated steel space frame design
offered in a live rear axle or fully independent form, the body
is built from composite reinforced moulded fibreglass with the
option of aluminium side panels and bonnet.
This is the
proto-type that DaX kept quiet for all these years !!

18-08-2001 Picked up the
Hayabusa engine inc clocks, rad, battery etc
06-01-2002 Going
well with the build, putting in the wiring loom
30-05-2002 Not
long to go now !! I hope .. just need oil rad hoses.

Start your engines . . sounds great at 11,000rpm

No.4 spark plug not working . sent petrol down pipe and set fire
to exhaust !!!

Working away getting every thing ready for the SVA

SVA day at Norwich . . . I PASSED !!!! It took 10 months
of hard work and hair
pulling !

It's my birthday.. and I got a very nice new REG plate

Got a wiring
problem.. front indicator is smoking !! changed the
whole loom for Dax's (should have done that in the first
place!)

What now.. got a fuel starvation problem ! (had this
before last year but changed fuel pump position and hosing
and been ok since)

Fitted new fuel pump and hoses and new Rad hoses as
well

Had the boys from A & M to put Ultra
Seal into my tyre's

Dax Open day.. we all made it .. and had a great time
talking to other owners and
seeing how they got on building their Dax's

Started to remove my
engine for its rebuild .. what a nightmare !

We're back !! done 350 miles and all seems ok.. Le Mans here

Put a new battery in the DaX and he's back in the living and
sounding very good..

Went to see Ashley and pick up some sausages from his farm,
but ended up on a Pickup lorry after my
drivers side rear drive shaft come loose and fell off !!

Went for a MOT, left car but 5 mins later they phoned up and
said you had better come back as there is part
of your engine missing !! A clutch pin had come loose
and smashed the engine/clutch housing.

Been a long time...Sorry. Had a complete strip down and rebuild of car and engine (extreme engines). Many hours of pain, sweat and tears, but it was all worth it. Drove into Stoneleigh kit car show and back out again !!

ALSO,
My Bro' Darren and Steve are also building Dax's ..it's
going to get messy on the track!!

I am hoping if all goes well to be racing very soon . . .
